The Design Process
Ultimately, creating your garden will be a collaboration, so we will give you as much or as little help as you need. It's important to me that the design is not only beautiful and functional, but that it is well suited to your tastes and lifestyle. You will always have the final say in any decisions.
What to expect?
1. Consultation Visit

First informal visit, to meet you, look at the site and discuss ideas for the garden.

During this stage, I will set up a private online page where we can easily exchange
images, styles, ideas, and documents. There is also a client questionnaire to help you clarify your requirements. We can then confirm the initial brief for me to work from.
After this consultation period, I will then be able to give you a bespoke quote for the design. Unfortunately, it is not possible to offer a simple flat rate fee, as it depends heavily on the type of work required.

Perhaps you already know what you want, but just don’t have time to do it. Or you may only need help with, plant selection, construction methods, or labour. Or you might want us to take care of the whole project, from start to finish. For this reason, the first stage is without charge. There are no hidden fees and nothing to pay until,
- you’ve had time to decide exactly what you want,
- we’ve calculated estimates of the project's likely costs and,
- our level of involvement has been mutually agreed.
2. Site Survey

The Second site visit will be to survey the site and carry out soil analysis. Then produce scale survey drawings and a report on appropriate types of planting and any soil improvements that may be required.

3. First Design Stage

Detailed scale drawings and sketches for your consideration. Here we will discuss key elements; materials, planting arrangements, and alternative proposals. I will then make any necessary redesigns based on your feedback.
Note: Also to investigate any planning or environmental restrictions and apply for the required permissions.

3. Final Design Phase
Produce a detailed design with full-scale drawings and specifications, including any details needed to carry out the works.

Produce any images or perspective drawings so that the design can be easily visualized.
Includes: -
- A complete and detailed planting design.
- A comprehensive programme for the ongoing maintenance of the garden after completion.
- A schedule of expected material and construction costs.
